In fair condition. Boards are afflicted with past water damage that permeates and effects end pages. Corners show signs of being swollen with water and have loss. Hinges are cracking, but intact. Nice spine with raised bands and gilt work. Previous owner s name on front paste down with old hand marginalia. Torn front end page. Sporadic thumb marks throughout. Plates fold out with ease. Light foxing throughout. Binding intact. Please see photos. Richard Helsham was an 18th-century Dublin Medical doctor, a well-known public figure, and a personal physician to Johnathan Swift, author or Gulliver s Travels . Following his death, in 1739, his pupil Bryan Robinson, another doctor, published this book. Robinson added a preface, quoting Newton on methodology in physics.
