About the Author

Helen Schucman (1909-1981) was a clinical psychologist and research associate at Columbia University. She is best known for her role in the scribing of A Course in Miracles, a spiritual text that emerged through a collaborative process and was later organized and edited for publication. William N. Thetford (1923-1988) was a professor of psychology and department chair at Columbia University. He collaborated closely with Helen Schucman in the organization, editing, and preparation of A Course in Miracles for publication.
