This edition reflects the current 2023 printing of A Course in Miracles Original Edition, published by the Course in Miracles Society (CIMS). The Pocket Edition Text contains the complete and unabridged Text portion of A Course in Miracles Original Edition (ACIM OE). It is the companion volume to the popular ACIM OE Pocket Edition Workbook/Manual, also published by the Course in Miracles Society.
The Original Edition reflects the scribing originally undertaken by Helen Schucman and William (Bill) Thetford and completed in 1972. The manuscript underlying this edition was rediscovered in 1999 and first published in 2006 by the Course in Miracles Society (CIMS).
The Text presents the theoretical foundation of the Course’s metaphysical thought system. It addresses fundamental questions concerning the nature of reality, the mind, forgiveness, and our relationship with God and with one another. Through its distinctive language and thought structure, the Text provides the conceptual framework upon which the Course’s practical teachings rest.
This edition is called the “Pocket Edition” because it was designed to travel easily with the student. Measuring approximately 8 x 5 inches and less than one inch thick, it fits comfortably into a backpack, briefcase, or purse.
Like the Pocket Edition Workbook/Manual, the Pocket Edition Text is designed for everyday use. It is printed on durable paper and features a laminated cover that helps resist wear, spots, and staining, making it well suited for study at home or on the go.
