A Course in Miracles/Text, Workbook for Students, and Manual for Teachers

The inspiration for Marianne Williamson's bestselling self-improvement guide, "A Return to Love," this set is the result of a seven-year, inner dictation. In 1965, psychology professor Helen Schucman heard a voice that identified itself as Jesus and offered her this instruction: "This is a course in miracles; please take notes." These three volumes - the text, a workbook for students and a manual for teachers - are meant to offer the reader independent study in spiritual psychotherapy. From the Viking Penguin edition: "This is a self-study course designed to shift our perceptions, heal our minds and change our behavior. According to the course 'miracles occur naturally as expressions of love' and in order to experience miracles instead of problems in our own lives we must be aware of love's presence."
