Covid-19: When Life Comes at You Fast (Paperback or Softback)

The timely follow-up to "Will I Always Be A ______ in America?" from new author John A. Reaves.

Y2K, the Great Recession, Ebola virus, and Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza A(H5N1) virus. These events were a warm-up for what we are now experiencing with COVID-19. COVID-19 is different from previous events because it is basically 100% universal, meaning 99% of humans on earth have heard of and have been impacted by it. Another unusual element of COVID-19 is its personal nature. Each of us—men, women, children—must determine how we will deal with it.

COVID-19: When Life Comes at You Fast is a collection of 10 essays in which John Reaves explores how he is navigating through COVID-19. The collection includes the titles COVID-19 Will Not Stop Me From Wanting What I Want, The Ubiquity of COVID-19: Haves and Have-Nots, Sacrifice for the Greater Good: COVID-19 Vaccine Volunteer, and Dying to Work. Each essay ends with a question the reader is invited to answer.

John Reaves’ goal is to share with readers his COVID-19 journey and encourage others to take this moment in time and reflect on their own experiences. Reaves believes that we may experience the emotions of tragedy, heartache, and loss differently but, in the end, we all deserve to live, breathe air, and engage with one another without facing the probability of dying from it.
