Audrey Wood is the author of more than two dozen books for children, including Red Racer, which she wrote and illustrated; King Bidgood's in the Bathtub (a Caldecott Honor book) and The Napping House, both of which she created with her husband, Don. She and Robert Florczak also collaborated on The Rainbow Bridge, which was an American Bookseller Pick of the List. Audrey was inspired to write A Cowboy Christmas by her research into numerous diaries and journals describing firsthand accounts of life in the American West. She lives with Don in Santa Barbara, California.
