About the Author: Byron "Cowboy" Wolford was one of the most colorful and most successful poker players ever to compete at the World Series of Poker. After spending many years as a road gambler in Texas, he migrated to Las Vegas where he finished second at the 1984 World Series championship and won the hold'em championship in 1990. With Dana Smith and a tape recorder, he recorded his adventures in the same vivid, Texas lingo with which he entertained live audiences of poker players for four decades.
