Ellen Reid Smith has been in awe of cowgirls most of her life. As one of the youngest female executives at American Airlines and IBM, she had few female mentors, so she modeled herself after the strongest women she knew--cowgirls who settled the Wild West. She believes that a cowgirl is wherever you find her—proving that you can take the cowgirl out of the Wild West, but you can’t take the Wild West out of the cowgirl. She lives in Austin, Texas, where she and her pardner Josef ride side-by-side each week.

Ellen is also the author of The Cowgirl Smarts Coloring Book that teaches The Cowgirl Creed to little buckaroos.
