Libby Ashcraft has been teaching sewing, embroidery, and embroidery software for over 20 years. Her grandmother taught her to sew when she was a young girl. Whenever she drifted away from sewing, she realized it was always there... in the background, surfacing when needed. As her boys grew up, she returned to sewing for fun and "therapy," purchasing her first embroidery machine and software more than 20 years ago. She has specialized in embroidery software (Viking, Floriani, Brother, and Embrilliance) and expanded her expertise to include electronic cutters such as the Silhouette Cameo and Brother Scan 'N Cut.
Libby is a Terri Johnson Creates Licensed Instructor and teaches the Silhouette Cameo at workshops and classes around the country. Libby teaches extensively at die-cutting events, including the Silhouette Summit, has been a presenter at the Applique Getaway and teaches at Original Sewing and Quilting Expo events. As a Martha Pullen Licensed teacher, Libby travels the U.S. helping bring the joy of sewing to many students. She is a teaching assistant at Martha Pullen Licensing events, the School of Art Fashion and mini School of Art Fashion events.
In addition to her teaching, Libby is a Technical Sewing Editor for the new Classic Sewing magazine. Libby works with all brands of cutters, believing that like sewing machines, each brand of cutter has its own specialty. She lives with her husband (aka "enabler" and "receiving department") and a dog who forces her to occasionally put down the computer and play. You can visit Libby's FB group, Libby's Craft and Sewing Group, for tips, tricks, and project inspiration!
