A (How Not To) Crash Course in Systems Engineering

Systems thinking is one of the most powerful ways to become a better engineer. Systems engineering is the philosophy of understanding and managing complexity. Anyone can become a more capable, adaptable, and valuable engineer by learning how to think in systems. I'll take it a step further and say that EVERY engineer is a systems engineer in some capacity.

I want to make it very clear that this is NOT a textbook. This is a practical guide designed to help early-career and aspiring engineers develop the mindset and tools needed to succeed in real-world engineering environments. Whether you are looking to accelerate your career progression, become a more versatile interdisciplinary engineer, or understand how engineering development actually works, this book will walk you through the fundamentals and show you how to apply them directly to your career in a time of rapid development and the emergence of new technologies.

The engineers who stand out are the ones who can think clearly, understand the bigger picture, and adapt to increasingly complex systems. This book is designed to help you become one of them.

Per aspera ad astra.
