Crashin' the Real

When gonzo columnist Eve Petra is fired by her magazine's new owner, she spends a couple of days wallowing in self-pity and JD. No one wants to hire a mid-life, female Hunter Thompson. The market has changed. People have changed. The only thing that hasn't changed is Eve. Lying on her bed wondering what has happened to her life, it comes to her. Now she just needs to find Steven Tyler and get him to tell her what the hell she should do next . . . and keep Grandma Rose from seducing him.

Deb Hoag has been writing professionally for nearly two decades, starting at a weekly alternative newspaper in Detroit, Michigan, The Metro Times. Her work there included answering phones, editing, writing a column and organizing such events as the Detroit Music Awards and the newspaper's yearly photography contest and Best Of Detroit issues. In the early 90s, Deb went back to school and was awarded a PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Detroit-Mercy. Since embarking on her new career, Deb s worked in a number of mental health positions. Her most recent fiction publication is Queer & Loathing on the Yellow-Brick Road which appeared in the Winter 2008 issue of Polluto. She has a collection of non-fiction essays on life, equality and modern mental health coming out in 2010 from Unlikely Stories, and is hard at work on a second novel for Dog Horn, this one centering on what happens when Dracula shows up at Freud's office, seeking, among other things, psychoanalysis.
