Reviews
Have you noticed the price of Hallmark products lately? Received several identical cards celebrating an occasion? Hauser (Priscilla Hauser's Folk Art Painting for Home Decoration, Prentice Hall, 1986) offers 31 elegant projects for unique, easy-to-make cards and gift-wrap. She details the basic tools and materials in projects that are sophisticated in their simplicity, using techniques that include marblizing, quilling, splattering, stenciling, collage, printmaking, and embossing. Utilizing pieces of lace and ribbons, buttons and beads, and bits of this and that, she offers inspiration for creating one-of-a-kind cards for expressing special sentiments. Refining the art, the more adventurous can achieve wonderful results with handmade paper creations. Well photographed with step-by-step instructions, this is one of the nicest craft titles available and should tempt patrons in all public libraries.
