If you’ve ever needed a fresh start or wanted to find a new way to begin to heal from the pain in your life, Create: New Beginnings is for you. This 10-week series of restorative art projects rooted in Scripture offers a safe space to process your own experiences in community with other women. You’ll intentionally and creatively explore themes such as

• emotions
• empathy
• shame
• self-doubt
• pride
• accountability
• courage

You don’t have to be “creative” to do this. You don’t have to have any art background―the goal is not to create a masterpiece. It is to simply deepen your relationship with God and others . . . and walk forward into a new beginning.

Martha Ackerman is an artist and coauthor of Create: New Beginnings, Prison Fellowship's restorative art workshop. Martha holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and management from the University of South Florida. She lives in Bluffton, South Carolina, with her husband, James. They have two grown children, Holden and Lily.

Stephanie Logan Segel is a Los Angeles–based painter, artist, and cocreator of Create: New Beginnings, Prison Fellowship's restorative art program. In 2017, she visited a prison for the very first time to create a mural inspired by the Human Connection Project, an original series sharing people's stories through art. She currently resides in Los Angeles, California
