The fascinating true story of A. Wetherell Johnson, a relentless missionary and founder of Bible Study Fellowship.
From its humble beginnings in 1952 as a study group of just five women led by Miss Johnson, Bible Study Fellowship has grown into a worldwide organization of more than 100,000 members―men, women, and young people meeting in nearly 300 groups, studying God’s Word.
This autobiography shows how God prospered this ministry and explains why Bible Study Fellowship today is so well known for its careful study methods, for its astonishingly effective organizational style, and especially for the Bible study notes written by Miss Johnson and read daily by thousands all over the globe.
Most of all, Created for Commitment tells a story so many have wanted to hear:
- How God rescued Wetherell Johnson from agnosticism
- Her time spent as a missionary in China just before the outbreak of WWII
- Her deliverance from the terrors of a Japanese internment camp
- The strength and wisdom God gave her to lead thousands into a deeper knowledge of Scripture and Jesus Christ
Christians will be inspired by this remarkable woman and her example of walking by faith to accomplish the Lord’s work.
