About the Author
At SHPI, Dr. Crooks counsels government and business executives in negotiating the challenges of leadership in today's rocky health care environment. Dr. Crooks has participated in the health care arena for more than twenty years. After leaving the United States Department of Health and Human Services, she developed and managed global policy operations at Merck & Company, for domestic and international markets. There she rose to become Vice President for Worldwide Operations of Merck's vaccine business.
SHPI works with health products and services companies, health providers, venture firms, trade associations and governments in North America, Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. SHPI provides a range of services from formulating health policy and political analyses to designing strategy and management; from moderating and chairing meetings and facilitating concensus to negotiating and resolving conflicts; from speaking on select topics to customizing topics for client needs; and from training and mentoring to coaching and briefing executives.
Dr. Crooks is on the Board of Directors of American Biogenetics, Inc. and is an Adjunct Professor of Health Policy at the University of Sciences in Philadelphia. She is a recipient of numerous public and private sector awards, including the Surgeon General's Medallion, the highest award in public health, from Surgeon General C. Everett Koop.
