Oversized and filled with color, it's full of the most practical details on country-style decorating ever. Any room in your house, or the whole house, can be redone with more character, warmth, and coziness by following the suggestions on wall and floor finishes, window treatments, soft finishing touches. ". . . well-illustrated with photographs. . .ambitious how-to projects . . ."--Library Journal. 304 pages (all in color), 8 1/4 x 11 1/2.
Similar in organization to the excellent "Creating Your Home" series that includes Creative Living Room Decorating and Creative Window Treatments (both LJ 9/15/96), this volume is well illustrated with photographs that show a sometimes fussy, flowery country look. Unfortunately, it never really defines what makes up country style. Also, ambitious how-to projects such as laying flooring and tile are included but not adequately explained. Only for comprehensive country collections.
