The first concentrates on the basic design of a room by describing the use of color, texture, pattern, and light. The second presents a review of interior decorating styles, from Victorian to modern, showing typical wall coverings, windows, and furniture that define each style. The last portion contains "how-to" information with instructions ranging from making curtains to the proper hanging of a picture in order to give the finishing touch to room decorating. Never too wordy, this guide offers a multitude of photographs that illuminate the advice throughout. An excellent practical purchase for public libraries.
