M. Stephen Doherty is Editor-in-Chief of both American Artist and Watercolor magazines. He graduated summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in printmaking from Cornell University. He is the author of numerous articles and books, including Dynamic Still Lives in Watercolor, Developing Ideas in Artwork, and Business Letters for Artists. Doherty recently presented solo exhibitions of his paintings and prints at Ferris State University in Michigan and they Bryant Galleries in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Jackson, Mississippi.
