Just when the students from the Spanish Moss School think they might have a break from solving mysteries, Carole Marsh and Coconut the rescue pup, reunite with the four students for another eerie adventure! They are about to discover that nothing is as it seems in the capital of the United States--Washington, DC! After boarding a familiar-looking helicopter and soaring above the gleaming marble monuments of the city, George, Neemie, Sally, and Rabon quickly learn that their mission comes straight from "you-know-who" as they are deposited on the lawn of the White House. Someone has threatened to destroy all of the books in the world's largest library, and it's up to this group of would-be detectives to stop them in time as they navigate 838 miles of bookshelves - IN THE DARK - to solve The Creepy Mystery at the Library of Congress. Can they find the culprit before their hopes (and the books) go up in smoke? When the President calls, leave it to Mimi, Coconut, and the Spanish Moss kids to dive headfirst into the action. It's a race against the clock to save the Library of Congress's cherished collection of books from being lost forever! ADVENTURE - HISTORY - MYSTERY - HUMOR - AND A RESCUE PUP! KIDS WILL LOVE THIS BOOK, EAT UP THIS SERIES - PRESIDENTIAL CHOPPERS AND ALL! "The first time I went to the White House and the U.S. Capitol, I felt like a fourth-grader--in awe, and my imagination went wild! The Secret Service noticed this and began to follow me around. I decided to keep my questions to myself, but like my young readers, I was determined to get answers!" - Carole Marsh
