Eighth edition hardback, 1851, with marbled-paper boards quarter bound in black leather - this is a later (undated) rebinding by Roger Preston-Smith of the Bespoke Book & Box Company, London (compliment slip loosely inserted). In overall fine, unread condition. Binding tight and appears almost unopened. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions; slight toning to page-ends but text and illustrations bright and clear throughout. A particularly handsome and well cared for copy.
