Item description from seller

Original publisher's brown paper wrappers with string binding. 9" x 12." Pages i-ii, 97-108, iii-vi, complete. Six pages of advertisements for books and a variety of products in front and back. Pages and covers are very clean and intact overall. Slight age toning throughout. Spine has severe wrinkling and many small closed tears. Binding is somewhat loose around front and back inner hinges but still strong and holding. A Good copy. A special tribute number of The Critic magazine to Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. published on the occasion of his 75th birthday. Subheadings for this number also include Vol. II, No. 35 and "The Critic, No. 132" and "Good Literature, No. 190." This issue is almost entirely composed of letters and written works (such as poetry) that pay tribute to Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. (1809-1894), a noted American poet. Holmes was one of the Fireside Poets, a group of poets who achieved much critical acclaim both in the United States and abroad.
