About the Author
In addition to being an Instrument rated Commercial Helicopter & Airplane Pilot, Richard is also a Certificated Flight Instructor for Helicopters as well as an Advanced & Instrument Ground Instructor. Richard has worked in Emergency Management and as a Flight Paramedic for the last 18 years. He has managed several air medical programs, has helped start two programs from the ground up, and worked as Base Supervisor for several CAMTS accredited rotor-wing programs. He is Instructor credentialed in BCLS, ACLS, PALS, ITLS, NRP, PEPP, PHTLS, ENPC, and EMT-Paramedic. Richard oversees the daily operations of Critical Care Concepts; a State approved ALS Training Agency with the Virginia Office of EMS, and has provided training programs in approximately 10 US States, as well as Canada, South America, Central America, and South Korea, in a multitude of areas. In addition to being a regular contributing writer for three air medical industry magazines, his work has also been published in various nursing and EMS journal publications. He is now on the Editorial Board with the Air medical Journal and also assisted with the new 2009 Mosby Paramedic textbook as a Chapter Reviewer.
