Title page indicates authorship as "By a Gentleman of the Temple"; Halkett & Laing attribute this work to the English bibliographer William Oldys (1696-1761) though probably by Pierre Le Gallois (see Traitte des plus belles bibliotheques de l'Europe (1685), with nearly same table of contents). Scarce. Small area of dampstaining to first several leaves, some browning and chipping to title page edge; some offsetting from turn-ins onto end papers; otherwise, very good. Seller Inventory # 790
