Three volumes. Full tree calf bindings. All three volumes are bound in full tree calf by Spottiswoode & Co. Ltd.,with five raised bands on the spines with gilt decorations to the compartments, and two red labels, gilt lettered with title and author and volume number. Double ruled borders to the boards, with the Eton College armorial in gilt to the spine compartments and also on both front and rear boards. Gilt decorated dentelles to inner board edges Marbled endpapers and page edges. ix[x-xii] 585 pages, [iv] 611 pages,[iv] 667 pages. 5.75 X 8.75 inches. All three volumes are very good sound copies. leather a little rubbed with the head of the spine to volume one edge worn. The bindings are all solid and firm. Inside all complete and in good order, Inner hinges very good. Tthere is a little spotting to the endpapers and adjacent blank pages. Otherwise all very clean throughout with no marking etc. Volume one has an Eton prize label on the front pastedown. Overall a nice finely bound set.
