The author, Jane Watkins, acquired recipes from the island and celebrity chefs who participate in the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience, a fundraising week of events that support non-profits on the island. The book features more than 70 recipes, chef profiles, historical and cultural information on the island, and a guide to enjoying wine in the tropics. Recipes are from celebrity chefs including Govind Armstrong, Anita Lo, Tim Love, Kevin Rathbun, Liza Shaw, Ana Sortun, Roberto Trevino, and more than a dozen talented island chefs. The photography of the island, the events and food is story-telling and stunning.
About the Author
Jane Watkins, a native of St. Croix, teams with the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience to recruit chefs and celebrity guests to participate in the fund-raising events. Inspired by the support and enthusiasm from the guest and island chefs, she developed the cookbook to promote the chefs, promote the island and support the causes of the St. Croix Food & Wine Experience.
