Structure and objectives

Proverbs is divided into several sections:

1. Chapters 1 to 9: A passionate invitation to wisdom. These chapters are like a letter from a father to his child, calling to embrace wisdom, avoid the snares of folly, and walk in the fear of the Lord, which is the foundation of all knowledge (Proverbs 1:7).
2. Chapters 10 to 29: A collection of practical, hard-hitting sayings, covering a wide range of topics: speech, work, integrity, relationships, wealth and more. Each verse is a gem of truth, applied to everyday life.
3. Chapters 30 and 31: The teachings of Agur and King Lemuel's mother, which conclude the book with profound reflections on dependence on God and a memorable portrait of the virtuous woman.
