About this title

Synopsis

This book delves into the history of the cross and the crescent as symbols in warfare. It examines the transformation of the cross from an instrument of punishment to a revered sign of Christianity and its subsequent adoption as a war standard. The author traces the parallel evolution of the crescent, a symbol of Diana in ancient mythology, which became associated with the rise of Islam and its military conquests. By exploring the origins of these symbols, the book sheds light on the complex interplay between religion, politics, and warfare throughout history.
