Crossing Anglican Horizons

In Crossing Anglican Horizons, The Rev. Samuel Van Culin tells the story of his ascent through America’s Episcopal Church to his appointment as the first Secretary General of the worldwide Anglican Communion. From his wartime youth in Hawaii and college years at Princeton to his decades of service in Honolulu, Washington, D.C., New York, and London, Van Culin reveals a life of dynamic curiosity and deep affection for the world of Anglicanism as it undergoes sweeping international transformations. Along the way, he makes time to appear on The Ed Sullivan Show, explore the depths of Jungian analysis, escort Princess Diana at Buckingham Palace, and lunch with the Pope in his private apartments, all while fulfilling a holy vocation as a priest in the Body of Christ. Featuring a foreword by the Director of the Center for Anglican Communion studies, The Rev. Dr. A. Katherine Grieb, and an afterword by the current General Secretary of the Anglican Communion, The Rt. Rev. Anthony Poggo, Crossing Anglican Horizons is required reading for anyone interested in the history, challenges, and witness of global Anglicanism.
