Seller: Amnesty Bookshop - Brighton, Brighton, United Kingdom
Hardcover. Condition: Fair. Dust Jacket Condition: Fair. 'A powerful piece of faithful reporting and a powerfully dramatic document' by former WW2 intelligence officer and journalist (inc. at the DDay landings), Reginald Thompson. According to the publisher's blurb, it provides a 'first-hand account which reveals the heart of the Korean tragedy - in which 'some two million men, women and children were killed.' In the middle of the book there are 20 pages of b/w photographs both of military personnel/equipment etc and Korean towns, villages and civilians. One of the latter, the circumstances of which the author explains in the text (pp. 169), is particularly haunting and replicated on the front of the dust jacket. The latter is slightly faded and scuffed in places but intact. Similarly, the black cloth boards have a small amount of rubbing/fading. Gilt titles along the spine. Edges (top and fore) have minor spotting. The binding remains tight. Internally, the pages display mild tanning; mainly at the page perimeters. pp. 303, (b/w photographs between pages 160 and 161, paginated i-xx)/8vo. Please note that depending on destination we may request an additional payment to cover any extra shipping/postage charges. Abe2223. Seller Inventory # ABE-1706289712986
