The Currency of Shadows

The Currency of Shadows is a gripping espionage thriller set in the fractured aftermath of World War II, where the fading British Empire and rising America wage a quieter war in ledgers, pipelines, and shadows.

When a British envoy is found dead in Istanbul, American intelligence officer Jack Mercer is drawn into a labyrinth of oil deals, narcotics trafficking, and covert financing that stretches from Athens to Beirut to Naples. Joined by a shipping heiress, a Soviet operative, and a cynical Neapolitan broker, Mercer uncovers a hidden financial pipeline fueling Western intelligence and confronts the unsettling truth that corruption is not the enemy's weapon alone-it is his own country's currency.

At the dawn of the Cold War, morality proves unaffordable, alliances collapse into necessity, and the true battle for empire is fought in silence, beneath the surface of peace. The Currency of Shadows is a sobering reminder of how the West fueled its ascension.
