This book takes up the ongoing challenges faced by the Indian economy polity and society in the present days. The focal point of current debate in Indian economy pertains to the policy shift in favour of the market indicating a departure from the socialistic pattern corruption and inefficiency of the government sector generic problems of abject poverty and huge unemployment functioning of the democratic institutions and their interference in long term economic development agenda and the sustainability of growth.
