Based on actual events, Cursed is the first book of an ongoing series about a little girls fight for survival in a world she believes is cursed. From the time she was born, life has been more of a nightmare than a dream. It seems everyone in her life is against her and those who could help are unaware or won’t believe her. Though she tries to win the heart of others, her own grows cold and after being shunned and abused by all she loves, she finally snaps. Her friends, family and care takers take advantage of her disposition in order to ostracize her further till she ends up on the street at the early age of twelve. Selling drugs and homeless, an unlikely savior takes her in an introduces her to the underground realm of fighting. When returned home to her family the abuse continues and she becomes a martyr for her mother’s love of attention. Her first consensual act leads to the birth of a beautiful baby boy that is taken to validate a narcissistic grandmother. This book contains several sexual and violent accounts and is not for children. The names and places have been changed but the pain and torment are real. These accounts must be shared to reveal the truth and give hope to all who feel they are living with a curse.

Michelle Lynn Back is an author, educator and speaker with degrees in kinesiology, psychology and education. She is now developing the nonprofit, HELP, to educate the nation to become aware of the signs, symptoms and treatments for mental illness by adding mental health education into classroom curriculum.
