In Curt Swan: A Life In Comics, Eddy Zeno traces the artist's career from his service in World War II as a staff cartoonist for the armed forces newspaper, Stars and Stripes, to the mid-1940s beginnings of his comic book career on features like The Boy Commandos, Tommy Tomorrow and Gangbusters. The book outlines his rise as the top Superman artist, from his newspaper strip work in the fifties, to the imaginative zenith reached in the sixties, and on through to the eighties. Swan then passed the torch to a new generation of artists who had grown up with his work firing their imaginations. Curt Swan: A Life In Comics reveals how in the artist's later years, he enjoyed the admiration of an army of fans and professionals that regarded him as one of the deans of American comics. This is juxtaposed against his dealing with the frustrations of trying to continue to fit into an industry that had evolved into something that regarded his quiet, dignified art as no longer fashionable.

A lifelong comics fan who has written for magazines such as Comic Book Marketplace, Eddy Zeno enjoyed a close correspondence with Curt Swan for over 10 years. He lives in Memphis, Tennessee.
