Synopsis:
Was he a martyr or damned? A hero or a fool? This pictorial biography of George Armstrong Custer explores all facets of the legendary general from his boyhood to West Point, through the Civil War and his earlier battles, to his last stand. It shows Custerâ s family, friends, and associates, military and civilian, white and Indian, at work and at play. More pictures of Custer-related people, places, and artifacts are assembled here than in any other book or museum collection.
About the Author:
Lawrence A. Frost, who practiced podiatry in Monroe, Michigan, where Custer had a home, was the author of many books and articles on both Custer and Ulysses S. Grant. His library of material on Custer is considered one of the most complete in existence.
