Stewart details Custer's Civil War record and subsequent Indian Wars actions, culminating with his demise at the Battle of the Little Bighorn. With a couple of fold-out maps and black & white photos on plates scattered through the volume. --- In olive cloth-covered boards with gilt-stamped titling on maroon spine block; maroon topstain. Jacket features color reproduction of Jahn Hauser's "The Challenge" to front panel. --- An excellent copy: clean, tightly-bound and unmarked, though with acidic stains to front endpapers.
