THE DECEIVER

THE DECEIVER
Every miracle has a price
Written by Thomas Hauser

THE DECEIVER is a Christian supernatural psychological thriller about a failed pastor tempted by the Devil through miracles, pride, corrupted Scripture, and the desire to be seen.

Caleb Ward once believed God had called him to lead. Now he serves quietly inside The Community Church, a struggling inner-city congregation where the pantry shelves run low, the building is falling apart, and the pulpit belongs to another man.

Then a stranger in black appears.

He does not arrive with horns or fire. He comes quoting Scripture. He offers signs. He offers miracles. He offers Caleb the one thing he secretly wants most: proof that he was chosen.

But every miracle has a price.

One white card at a time, Caleb is drawn into a terrifying spiritual trap. The verses seem holy. The power seems real. The calling seems divine. But the Devil knows how to twist truth into temptation, and Caleb must confront the pride, envy, resentment, and hidden desire buried beneath his faith.

As Pastor Bell, Rebecca, and Walter begin to see the danger, Caleb is forced toward a final confrontation with Satan, where the name of Jesus Christ, prayer, mercy, and Scripture become the only weapons left.

Dark, intimate, and spiritually direct, THE DECEIVER is a story of temptation, corrupted faith, spiritual warfare, and redemption through Jesus Christ.

This novel contains strong Christian themes, direct references to Jesus, Satan, Scripture, prayer, spiritual deception, and the battle between pride and true faith.

Best for readers who enjoy Christian supernatural thrillers, spiritual warfare fiction, psychological suspense, and stories where faith, temptation, pride, and redemption collide.
