xi+273+(7, pub.list); centre front pastedown has large, not unattractive, ex libris plate with '1/-' (old pre-decimal shilling sign) suggesting it was from some kind of private lending library, the only other such provenance sign however is a small fragment attached to rear pastedown with two part lines of printing, otherwise internally clean, tight and unmarked bas some faint dustiness and off-setting from ex libris label to front endpaper, outer edge of one 4-leaf gathering proud and therefore rubbed. Red cloth covers generally clean but a few trivial marks and faint rubbings, extremities rubbed, notably back lower corner, spine a trifle faded and end-rubbed. Despite faults an above average copy of this scarce and significant work.
