Author Biography
A writer, columnist, and lecturer in the Master’s Program in Gender and Communication at the UAB, she began her literary career with Entre todas las mujeres, a finalist for the La Sonrisa Vertical Award. She is the author of the acclaimed Lola Van Guardia Trilogy. She received the Shangay Award for the novel No me llames cariño, the Jennifer Quiles Award for the graphic novel Alicia en un mundo real, and the Terenci Moix Award for LGBT Literature for Elogio del Happy End. She coordinated and edited Las HumoristAs. Ensayo poco serio sobre mujeres y humor. Her latest novel, Dos tazas, marks the return of her most iconic character, Inspector García.
A self-described “inconstant illustrator,” she began her career collaborating with magazines and textbooks. In 2006, she published Salidas de emergencia, the first comic in Spain to address lesbianism through humor. Due to its success, it was soon followed by a sequel, Salidas de emergencia: Bollería fina, published in 2007. In 2019, she released her most personal project, Cappuccino Commotion, an autobiographical work filled with numerous nods to pop culture.
