Elizabeth Rowe [nee Singer] (1674-1737), English poet and novelist, was born in Somerset. At her request, her letters and manuscripts were edited, and posthumously published, by noted hymnographer Isaac Watts; they were first published in London in 1738, and in Boston in 1742, and widely reprinted.
