Major document of early Tudor humanistic political-cum-religious thought written in context of Henry VIII's divorce wrangles. Born 1495-1500, Starkey died in 1538, probably just escaping the chop by doing so. This is the first authoritative edition of the document, 19th century editions being defective in numerous ways detailed by the editor.
