Complete Set of Five Volumes in Period Burgundy Red Full-Leather Bindings with Gilt Portrait of Dante on fronts and Gilt Lettering and Decoration on spines. Top page edges Gilt. Vol I. Hell; Vol. II. Purgatory; Vol. III. Paradise; Vol IV.Canzoniere/Minor Poems; Vol. V. Studies and Estimates, a very interesting volume by Dean Plumptre. Each volume has a frontis illus. including: Paolo and Francesca, The Rose of Heaven and 2 Portraits of Dante. Slight edge wear and a very small bit of leather missing from top of spine on Purgatory volume. Prize inscription on fly leaf of Vol. I and on ffep of Vol IV. No other inscriptions.
