Full colour facsimile reprint of the original First World War, War Office war diary of the 529 (East Riding) Field Company Royal Engineers, 231 Field Company Royal Engineers and Divisional Signal Company, Divisional Troops, 3rd Division, covering September 1914 to October 1919 across 441 pages. It names 152 places across 206 dated entries.Alongside the daily entries the volume carries two maps and twenty-five diagrams.The diary opens at Braine on 13 September 1914. 1914 is spent at Braine. 1915 at Steenvoorde, Mont Noir, Bertry and Bulford. 1916 at Bus-Les-Artois, Courcelles Au-Bois, Westoutre, Courcelles Au 0 Bois and Bray. 1917 at Arras, Ecoust, Lebucquiere and Warlus. 1918 at Labeuvriere, Boisleux-Au-Mont, Hamelincourt, Wancourt and Nancourt. 1919 at Cologne, Braunsfeld and Duren. It closes at Braunsfeld on 31 October 1919. Cologne is where it spent longest, 305 days across five separate stays, including a single unbroken stay of 153 and it came back to Arras eight separate times.In 1915 it is also recorded at Amesbury, Rouen, Aulnoy and Noirchain.
