The diary opens at Lillers Pas-De-Calais France on 26 January 1916. 1916 is spent at Les Brebis, Mametz Wood, Maxse Redoubt, Bazentin Le Grand and Grenay. 1917 at Le Clipon Camp, Chuignes, Morcourt, Meteren and Roisel. 1918 is the most travelled year, 105 places against 50 in the next busiest, and is spent at Charpentier Cross Roads, Alfter, Cambrin, Noeux Les Mines and Arras. 1919 at Duisdorf, Meckenheim, Alfter, Germany and Bonn. It closes at Alfter on 30 July 1919. Alfter is where it spent longest, 186 days across seven separate stays, it came back to Les Brebis ten separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 90 days at Charpentier Cross Roads.
