It names 170 places across 270 dated entries. Alongside the daily entries the volume carries seven reports, narratives and plans, 57 Operation Orders, eleven maps and two diagrams. The diary opens at 10th Battalion The West Yorkshire Regiment on 1 August 1915. 1915 is spent at 10th Battalion The West Yorkshire Regiment and 10th Battn. The West Yorkshire Regiment. 1916 at Camps-En-Amienois, Service, Caours and Armentieres. 1917 at St Nicholas, Halloy, Meaulte, Bronfay And Combles and Hazebrouck 5A. 1918 at Arqueves, Rubempre, Neuvilly, Purple System and Mesnil. 1919 at Merelessart, Hangest, Le Havre and BHQ Ac Merelessart. It closes at Le Havre on 22 April 1919. 10th Battalion The West Yorkshire Regiment is where it spent longest, 123 days, it came back to Les Boeufs Trenches nine separate times, and the longest it stayed anywhere without moving was 38 days at Merelessart.
