Mainly works in oil, the ninety-three plates in this catalog range from the representational to the abstract, and chart Dodd’s powerful vision from 1929 to 1969. Eighteen paintings are reproduced in full color.

The catalog also includes basic curatorial information on the paintings, a chronology of Dodd’s life and career through 1970, and a selection of critical commentary on his work.
