Title: DON QUIXOTE - vinyl lp.
Publisher: RCA VICTOR
Publication Date: 1953
Binding: paperback
Condition: Good
Seller: Cat's Curiosities, Pahrump, NV, U.S.A.
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Photos by Charles Steiner, John Reeves (illustrator). Not a book but a pair of 12-inch, 33-1/3 rpm stereo vinyl records, the first being United Artists UAS 6649, a 1971 pressing of "Did She Mention My Name" ("Lightfoot" to front panel in orange, not yellow, though curiously with company address as "New York 19" to jacket verso -- no zip code.) Near-mint vinyl in a near-mint jacket. All compositions are Gordo's, with John Stockfish on bass and Red Shea on guitar, including "The Mountains and Maryann"; "Pussywillows, Cat-tails," and of course "Did She Mention My Name?" (Yes, the LABELS read "Mountains and Marion,' but then ALL our copies contain this label error, so we're not sure what it proves.) Our second LP is "Don Quixote," 1972, Reprise MS 2056, near-mint vinyl in a very-good jacket which is developing some ringwear and some edge rub. Rick Haynes now on bass, with Terry Clements and Red Shea joining Mr. Lightfoot on guitars. No fillers on this baby -- "Christian Island," "Alberta Bound," "Looking at the Rain," "Brave Mountaineers," "Ode to Big Blue," "Beautiful," "On Susan's Floor" . . . this is one of the great songwriters of his generation. Two classic early Gordon Lightfoot LPs for one price, the pair now reduced from $15. Seller Inventory # 009953
