THE DRAMATIC WORKS OF RICHARD BRINSLEY SHERIDAN with A Short Account of His Life by GGS. Two Volumes.

8vo, 19.5x14cm. ppX,398,(2) & V,(1),416. Both volumes with tissue-guarded frontispiece portrait and title-page vignette. Top edges gilt, other edges untrimmed. Uniform green cloth, backstrips with title etc and vignette in gilt. Binding of Vol. II a little bumped at lower corner shared by backstrip and front cover; contents unaffected. No dust jackets. Fore- & lower edges of text-blocks toned and a little spotted. Endpapers lightly spotted at pastedowns and patchily toned at flyleaves; owner's name on each front flyleaf, together with shallow indentation remaining from erased pencil price. Vol. I page 285 (blank except for divisional title 'Dramatic Works') marked to width 2cm along 9cm of fore-edge, the result of selotape (now removed) applied to untidily cut fore-edge; divisional title unaffected, negligible effect on blank verso. Bindings holding firmly and of pleasing shelf appearance, contents generally clean and tight. VERY GOOD set.
