About the Author

Janet M. Bender is a retired elementary school counselor, author and consultant. She received her bachelor�s degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC in 1971 and a graduate degree in school counseling from the Citadel in Charleston, SC in 1980.

Mrs. Bender has 30 years experience in public education including 10 years as an elementary classroom teacher and 20 years as a school counselor in Berkeley and Dorchester two school districts.

Her contributions to the counseling profession include multiple presentations to counselor organizations and church groups throughout the southeast and two previously published counselor resources "School Counselor Scrapbook" and "Ready Set Go."

She and her husband live in Goose Creek, South Carolina, and have three adult children and one grandchild.
