Daedalus Rimes - Afterdeath

Two minds in a single body work together to form a relationship of mutual purpose. The following dialogue represents a pivotal moment when they come to terms with who and what they are.

Look at us. Daedalus said, observing Teela's reflected image peering back at them from the viewing screen. Can you see me? he asked.

Teela studied the image and dredged forth the memory of Daedalus looking in a mirror. For a moment, the image melded with hers and she could see their combined images looking back, looking within, gauging and demanding they be more introspective of themselves in relation to the universe around them.

It was at that moment of self-evaluation that Teela experienced his need, and Daedalus in turn experienced hers. This chance encounter, this brief moment in time, and for as long as it lasted, they knew that if they had nothing else, at the very least, they would always have each other.

Howard W. Lewis has always been fascinated by the science fiction tales that appear in comic books, on television, and in the movies.

He spent six years serving in the United States Navy aboard nuclear submarines. He followed that experience with another twenty five years in civilian nuclear power generation.

With a lifetime of experience grounded in science facts, he maintains that the concept of life beyond the confines of our planet is not only probable, but a reality for those adventurous enough to dream and write of the possibilities.
