Daisy, Ivy & Rose

Daisy and Ivy were born on the same day in the same hospital, and grew up together. For the first 12 years of their lives, Daisy and Ivy were inseparable friends. Neither could remember ever being apart from each other. Then one day, they find out Daisy's family has to move away. This story shows how they respond to their feelings of loss, and how hard it is for Ivy to overcome her grief after Daisy leaves.

This is a story about love and friendship, and how our compassion and empathy can help others begin to heal from grief and loss. This story may help adults open up conversations with children and teens about how to help people who are experiencing difficult emotions to feel better.

Eileen Maurer enjoys writing stories that use simple metaphors to help children, teens, and adults think about being human and learning to cope with adversity, change, and our emotions.
